Kate & Jonny's Big Day

Kate and Jonny’s relationship has always been wonderful but certainly varied. They've most definitely had their ups and downs - the biggest probably being Kate’s leaving for Australia in 2007.  She soon realised her mistake and begged for him back on her return!

Jonny proposed on my doorstep to my flat in Parsons Green. Bless him, he was on both knees as he didn’t know which one was the right one apparently..
I am of course biased but my ring is pretty special.  I inherited some diamonds from my Grandmother and always told my Mother, in the unlikely event anyone asks for my hand in marriage, I would like these diamonds to make up the ring.  Lo and behold… I got what I wanted.

I had the most incredible hen do all organised as a complete surprise.  I was whisked away to Hvar in Croatia with 15 of my nearest and dearest for a long weekend. Words can’t begin to describe just how amazing it was!

I always imagined my dress would be a sweetheart, floaty, hippy'esq number…the complete opposite of what I went on to wear
The process of finding my dress was initially, thoroughly nerve-wracking but enjoyable.  I loved everything about WM - from the moment I walked in and met Emma I felt at ease.  The dress I eventually went for was one that I had dismissed on first sight but I was talked round. Emma and the team rallied round to advise/consult and without a shadow, made me feel like a princess.

Shoes are my ‘thing’ but I wanted something classic, with no frills/diamantes etc, which is quite hard to find.  I went with Christian Louboutin Decolette Heels in nude.
My veil was also from White Mischief.  A very simple, ivory mesh veil, which was edged with glass beads, which caught the light beautifully
My accessories were again, very simple.  I wore ivory pearl studs (a gift from my mother) and a multi-strand pearl bracelet, which I bought from an independent jeweller.
My make-up was done by a fabulous lady who runs Marverllous Make-Up in Haywards Heath.  I could not recommend her more. A friend from London who is a style director at Headmasters did my hair

I initially wanted ivory bridesmaid dresses but was talked round.  I stumbled across a great start-up company called Maids to Measure and worked closely with them to design what I wanted.  Again, they offer an outstanding service
Jonny whore a traditional Morning dress, which he hired from Dickies in Hove.
He wore an ivory waistcoat and cravat.

My theme was rustic and my entire palette was ivory so the flowers were a variety of ivory and of course green foliage.  My bouquet consisted of large Roses and Eucalyptus.
Bembridge Flower Shop worked really hard and blew me away with their attention to detail.
You will think I'm bonkers but I couldn’t find invites that I wanted in the UK so I ended up having them designed and shipped from Texas...they were fashioned on old post bundles tied with twine.
We then invited 200...because we're mad and I went to town in the DIY department when it came to decorations!

The ceremony was at a gorgeous little church called St Helens in Seaview on the Isle of Wight.
The reception was held at the Priory Bay Hotel just around the corner, which we had taken over for the weekend
The day of the wedding was wet!  So very wet.  So wet in fact that I had to get dressed in the entrance to the church (there is a picture of one of the ushers holding my dress up in preparation...poor chap)
It was quite possibly the most magical hour of my life. So many of our guests commented that it was the most beautiful service they had ever attended.

Our photographer was Gavin Dawson, a brilliant chap!  He was so nice to be around and was such a professional.  He worked harder than I could have imagined.  He's taken incredible pictures.

The day as a whole was an absolute whirlwind...it was just so much fun. It’s just so incredible to have everyone you love in one place wearing huge smiles. I got to bed at 5am!I wish I could do it all again

My advice to any bride would be; enjoy every second..........it's all over too fast.
